REDDING HQ - United Public Employees of California Local 792 Executive Board approved support for a major fundraiser over the weekend.
The Good News Rescue Mission received support for the Night to the Rescue, Brining hope to the Streets evens May 3 - 4, 2014 held in Redding at the Simpson University Campus.
UPEC Staff and Board will assist the Shasta County General Unit (SCGU) Leadership Team with it's participation in this event. Labor Relations Representatives Ryan Heron and Christine Perry will be the staff contacts for the team. All UPEC represented units in Redding and Shasta County are encouraged to participate.
"This is an oportunity to help the Rescue Mission make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate and for our union members to come together in solidarity for the community", said Business Manager Chris Darker.
UPEC will provide a tee shirt for each participant in the event and contests between bargaining units and incentives to create competition and increase giving. Local 792 has set a goal of raising $5,000. for the event.
