REDDING HEADQUARTERS – United Public Employees of California Local 792 Executive Board and Political Action Committee endorsed the tax initiative on the November 8, 2016 ballot.
The half-cent sales tax will begin to fund the serious problems that the Redding Community have faced over the past several years.
“We along with other businesses and community leaders are behind Measure D & E One-Hundred percent. These measures will help improve our community and our safety”, said UPEC Business Manager Chris Darker.
The Redding City Council has placed two measures on the November 8, 2016, ballot for consideration by Redding voters. The first measure (Measure D) pertains to a 0.5 percent transactions and use tax (sales tax). The second measure (Measure E) is an advisory measure that will enable Redding voters to provide guidance on how the revenue from the transactions and use tax should be utilized. Safe Streets Now will be holding a rally in downtown Redding at Library Park beginning at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 9th. There will be food available at the rally.
