REDDING, CA - It may be election day all over the United States today but in the City of Redding it was "Recognition Day" for the City Fire Management personnel.
The City of Redding today approved a new bargaining unit for the City Fire Management personnel. UPEC Business Manager Chris Darker filed a petition for the new bargaining unit last month on behalf of management personnel. "I am honored that we were asked by the fire personnel to represent them in their labor dealings with the City, said Darker. The new unit will consist of the Deputy Fire Chief, Battalion Chief's and Assistant Fire Marshal.
The City has notified all other bargaining unit leaders and there is a 30 day wait until the election in December.
