Posted On: Jun 29, 2017
REDDING HQ – The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) reported this week that all settlement checks were distributed in a case UPEC Local 792 filed nearly 9 years ago.
UPEC filed several Unfair Labor Practice charges against Shasta Regional Medical Center in October 2008 on behalf of their members who were dismissed without being provided their severance pay. The hospital owners, Hospital Partners of America filed bankruptcy in 2008 and the hospital was taken over by Prime Healthcare Services.
UPEC Local 792 Business Manager Chris Darker reported they had been working with the NLRB for several years and was pleased to finally see the case be settled on behalf of their former members. There were 417 members who responded to the NLRB and were provided payment. UPEC represented Registered Nurses and LVN/Technical employees at Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding from 2000 – 2009.
