Weaverville - UPEC successfully represented several employees who came to the Union with issues about working out of class in a higher paid classification. Following a discussion with County management that was initiated by UPEC Labor Representative Ron Copeland, these employees were recognized as deserving back pay for their particular assignments. Not all out of class work duties rise to the level of receiving out of class pay but when in doubt please contact your local UPEC representative and we will assess your situation. This assessment is necessary as out of class rules are local agency rules that are negotiated, not state or federal law.
