We are pleased to report that our members in the cities of Seaside and Capitola were recently able to negotiate new contracts. Staff negotiator Ryan Heron reports the following key elements of each contract:
Seaside City Employees' Association
A one-year term through 6-30-22.
A 2% COLA.
An additional pay step of 2.5% at 5 years of service. This new step applies to many members immediately and many more over the next several years.
The addition of Juneteenth as a recognized holiday.
The establishmkent of a city-wide committee to review alternative medical coverage.
Capitola Association of Clerical Employees
A three-year term.
COLA's as follows: 2.75% year 1, 3% year 2, 3% year 3.
A $1,500 signing stipend for each employee.
A 5% increase for Maintenance Worker III due to compaction.
A provision for acting pay when performing supervisor duties.
Increases to the City medical contribution resulting in a $175/month increase for family coverage by the end of the contract.
