Update!  We are 3 very successful days into our two-week strike for better pay and medical insurance for the 850 employee Shasta County General Unit!  

Hundreds of striking County workers are on the picket line, shutting down many County offices and services.  We packed the Board of Supervisor's meeting yesterday where the Board agreed to schedule a future agenda item to appoint two Board members to meet directly with the Union bargaining team in an effort to settle the contract.  Small progress, but progress nonetheless!
